In a vast, empty, and abandoned space with an atmospheric sense of decay, the scene unfolds under dim natural light filtering through narrow ceiling windows. In the center stands "Sculpture One," a plaster form echoing a classic wooden bookcase, its slightly damaged exterior exposing a metal structure beneath. The texture of both plaster and metal is intricately detailed. A 16mm film projector casts a black-and-white video onto its surfaces, featuring a half-naked Portuguese girl adorned with an urban hat, her image mysteriously mapped across the empty shelves. To the right, "Sculpture Two" presents a paper folding screen with a wooden frame, its design recalling a Japanese Nanban screen in six segments, opened just enough to reveal its spare, undecorated elegance. Upon its surface, a vivid projection of a biblical figure in red robes and sunglasses appears against a serene blue sky. On the left, "Sculpture Three" is a modest puppet theater crafted from wood and Alentejo textiles, housing the "Bonecos de Santo Aleixo" puppets, seemingly in repose. This theater is diminutive compared to the other sculptures. The entire assembly, lit by the hushed glow of the projectors, seems dwarfed by the cavernous space they occupy, creating an eerie yet captivating tableau.
