I feel the rooftop lifting away, as chaos ensues and everyone vanishes. I gaze at the stars extinguishing above, feigning concern among the apathy. It's a feeling no one ever authentically embraces, and perhaps no one ever will. Can't you see it's all slipped through my fingers? Our garments frequently torn, our jaws clenched in frustration, enduring as long as possible. Yet, I find myself unable to accept this, unable to reconcile with it. I just can't, I simply can't.
