I feel the rooftop lift away, taking everyone with it. I'm watching as the stars flicker and fade, feigning interest I can’t quite muster. No one ever truly cares, and it seems no one ever will. Everything feels like it's slipping from my grasp, with our clothes so often in tatters and our teeth clenched in frustration. This moment stretches as far as it can go, but I simply can’t, I simply won’t accept this reality. I just don’t accept it, not at all.
